got similiar experiences? btw, it seems that everything that is run by the guys at netpond is "weird"... if i remember correctly, they run a sponsor that didn't pay either on time or at all... bit i might be wrong...

I still have some sites with them.. ughy..

They died due to they removed there damn FTP access, i dont use freehosts that have that crappy File Manager... i hate that.. no offense to lightning free.. I just make to many sites in one day to fuck with web based ftp.

You can only promote our Dollar machine sites with it.... But we don't have any banners on it

Watcher, our new upload feature, is actually a faster upload then ftp. It allows a faster file transfer then any ftp client. It is still in beta, but there have been no problems at all, and in fact nothing but good things have been said.

Elvis, actually I wasnt referring to a free host like you have set up, and I believe ARS is the same way as you. Yes No ads, but only promoting your programs is like having headers.. its a different method of getting your ads on the pages.. What I was actually trying to say, is that A free Host cant survive being "Adless" on the pages..

no way of earning a penny back..

There are two freehosts I would not hesistate to use:
Lightning Free
Porn City
Neither offer ftp, but both have been around a long time, and neither will steal your traffic. Wasn't this new freehost you are talking about only offering to be banner free for the first month. I thought it was a limited time offer to entice webmasters to try their services out, not an actual business strategy. Anyway, I've seen this question on 3 webmaster boards. Oddly enough, I did not notice this question raised at the Netpond boards. That might be a better location for an answer, although I would think e-mail would be the very best.
Lots of things can happen to a new freehost. The script could be a little buggy, the server might become overloaded and need to be upgraded, etc etc etc

I am currently On a Cable modem, and the FTP client I use has multi-tasking so when upload 6 to 12 TGPS I can do them all at the same time and not have millions of windows open. I am a computer geek when it comes to internet ive been designing websites for ver 3 years now (may not be long to some of you) and i can say with ease I would put a host that has FTP access over a host that doesent. (except when FTPFH did heh) No offense to FTPFH they had a great thing going just didnt plan it all out.
