you're fucking right!!!! but you really mean to say, the REAL stuff will blow your mind away in only half the amount of shots as the crap I'm drinking....
Originally posted by wes I have seen blue variations of absynth in a club in London. He is right. There is green as well though.
Well he's NOT right, because he said something along the lines of 'true' absinth being blue.
The fact is, it's green. add some water to whatever shit you've got and it should turn cloudly green, unless there's been some sugar added or some other crap like blue dye..
In any case, after about the first 5 shots you really forget what goddamned color it is

My election drink right now is "Corridinhos" (Vodka & Red Bull & Gin) ... drink all a once
BTW - did you make that up? If not, where did you get that from, and what are the portions? I seem to have all those ingredients and wouldn't mind giving it a go

Genuine asinthe, the type that you CAN NOT buy in ANY liquor store is sky-blue.
You can only find it in certain regions of France.
The 'green' color is added so that no-brain idiots think they are drinking genuine absinthe, its a marketing gimmick, nothing else.

Listen Regards Lee, as you are aware, absynth/absinth/etc../ is made from wormwood which has goddamned green pulp. However, I am willing to believe that you're more of a drinker than any one of us, due to your outrageous comments.
Green is the traditional color - which is obtained from the tincure of herbs. Usually anise, fennel, and wormwood (Artemisia absinthium - from hence the name derives). Wormwood is the psychotropic agent (and is also a convulsant). The bulk of Absinthe drinks were comprised of various alcohols and flavoring, the only true universal component being wormwood. The "strength" of a particular brand merely reflects the actual wormwood content.

Whatever.
You try to educate someone and they dont listen.. its the GFY way, dont worry about it
In the U.S., traditional Absinthe is illegal to sell for human consumption because it contains the chemical thujone which is banned by the FDA for use in foods but allowed in some herbs known to contain thujone (Title 21, Chapter 1, Part 172.510). Some types of absinthe are sold in the U.S. which contain no thujone and other absinthes are imported into the U.S. despite FDA regulations.
Therefore any 'absinthe' you are drinking that has been purchased in a retail outlet, is not true absinthe, which happens to be light blue in color, not green.
Yeah... I think really it's not blue, but I accept the opinion that you have, Lee, which is that it's blue. I just don't see blue as a very natural color and find it hard to believe that anything much could be blue without some kind of chemical additive. Sure there may be blue flowers somewhere but you know that these aren't used in the production of this liquor..
No, you misunderstood me. If *YOU* drink this shit, when you get around to having kids, they have a chance of being retarded and deformed. I could care less what you do, I just happened across it and thought I would share
