    clean counters for galleries?

I've been submitting some galleries to TGP's and I've included my hitbox code on some of them so I can get a feel for the refferer etc. Well some TGP's see the hitbox code as illegal as there is javascript if anyone clicks on the counter.

My question is what should I be using to collect stats for my galleries that wouldn't be seen as illegal by the TGP's?

hitbox counters pop an active x prompt on my pc - anything that pops a prompt gets declined. I'm tired of fucking with bookmarks/homepage etc etc

              SexTracker, SexList, XXXCounter,
HyperCount and PornTrack are also good counters.

What? Hitbox does nothing of the sort - it's a counter like webtrends. I'm a little concerned by the tgp owners who have scripts (for very good reasons!!!) that won't accept a gallery because of javascript. The scripts they use can't tell the difference between innocuous webstory code that counts stats and popups that open another window for malicious reasons. I think as a gallery owner - who has paid for the content I am posting by the way - should have every right to post their counter on their page. I want to see where my referrals are coming from and how many people are interested in this content.

Is there any way to work this out? Like have the scripts ok seeing the words "websidestory" (which makes hitbox by the way)?

To put it plainly - fuck it! I decided to go with a perl script and compile the stats myself on my own server. It's FREE!!!

                    http://www.w3perl.com/softs/

Looks easy to configure - gives html stats of everything you could possibly want. No more javascript crap.

Just thought I'd help out my fellow webmasters with my answer
