    flash paysites

I know a guy who does BEAUTIFUL work when it comes to putting a paysite in flash but before I fork out the money on a few I was wondering if anybody has had success? The WHOLE design won't be in flash, maybe 40%.... Just need to know everybodies take on it ... Haven't seen any big boys doing it so... help a cracker out

I'm not sure about this (i haven't got any stats to back it up), but i reckon that if you had a page with the option of normal or flash, so the visitor gets to choose, would probably work best. I hear that a lot of people just push back when they come to flash sites. That might help that problem.

As long as it is hard to see if it is done in flash, but you think "Damn, that is nice ly done, how did they do that?" and your second thought is "Oh this is Flash in the page", you're off to a good start.

Also, don't have it done for Flash 6 (MX) only.

well - if you have substantial traffic ready to go, do a flash and non-flash (i am assuming you already know exactly what you want the design to look like, beyond minute details) - then test them. the prettiest site in the world can convert like shit. amatuerish looking sites can convert like a mutherfucka.

it's all about conversion, and nothing to do with looking pretty. also, the selling site should reflect the members area if you want to retain worth a shit.

            i'm gonna shut up now....

Personally, I can't wait for a flash page to load, so I leave. An option for flash or not would be best for slow connections.

give the surfer an option...but I bet you'll find most who have a choice will select html...they just want to get in and see the pussy....

also, add a "skip movie" feature...I hate flashers who don't offer that....sure, jerkoff, I'm here to buy something and you want me to wait five minutes to see how well you're progressing with that teach yourself Flash book...

the only problem with making it a choice, is you're just giving the surfer one more barrier/decision to make, before getting to your join page. blah, blah ;)

Dont do it, I personally hate flash, its simply to flashy and 99% of time its used incorectly and just annoyes the surfers so even if you do use it correctly many people will be turned off simply because its flash.

again, if it converts - use it. if it doesn't - trash time.

most of the replies here have missed the point that it's not going to be a full flash page.. so.. no big ass loading.. no skip button..no need to offer two versions.. just tightly integrated flash that shows up as gifs for those that don't have the plugin..

i don't think everyone missed the point. it sells on traffic, or it doesn't sell on traffic. test. end of fucking story.

well obviously *YOUR* point wasn't in question.. it's a bit hard to argue against "if it converts use it, if not don't" even if you wanted to.. my comment was regarding the five or so statements that don't especially apply to a "flashed area" page but could be used against a full flash site..

nothing brings things into focus like conversion. i've based my entire business on it.

Thanks for the input fella's.... I'm not going to test it myself, I'm having around a dozen sites being built in straight gif/jpg/html format... but I'm also going to throw a couple flash sites in there and let people try it out their damn selves... but yeah, the flash isn't going to be THAT extensive... Look at the site bucknaked made for the design contest and maybe add 10% more flash and that's where I'll be... the graphics are so crisp I have to at least give it a shot... thank ya much

heheh.. there not a lot else that matters in a design.. hence me not taking issue with it

I've never like the flashy (note that I'm not only talking about flash, but graphic intensive showoff sites in general) sites and personally have never understood the point.

The greatest site I've personally seen and used was busty-amateurs.com. Down to to the point, frequent updates. Minimal graphics....

Busty-Amateurs!? I aven't used them in years - I didn't know they were still around.

Actually, I just checked out their site out - and it looks like they are using the Jusus Dialer 8.0 now...
