If you're looking for something on the nice side that's within an easy cab ride, I'd try Le Merigot, Loews, or Shutters on the Beach.

All 3 are beachside and nice.

hotel is ok, is nothing like the hotel in florida or vegas, but decent I guess.

I'd stay at the hotel though, that way running to your room for a jacket or to drop something is convient.
