You need to put a 'Stop' when you trade: that way you minimize your loss. I stop at about 5%. So i never loose more then 95% of my investment. Hence when i win it covers all the losses. Took me years to implament that trick but i never loose anymore.

Stocks suck as they are high management. If you are willing to accept a realistic rate of return there are some hot bond funds these days doing 10% between valuation and dividends with pretty well no risk.
