    Google AdWords

Are the paid results showing on top of the regular results (not on the right side) still AdWords or are they something else?

And do they appear there automatically when you have an hi-bid or do you have to select something?

If you're the top bidder for that keyword and you have a high CTR and Google thinks you're sexy then you'll get those sweet spots.
Geo-target banners, text, snippets of code...
basically anything on your website with Geo-Ads PHP.
