Seperate IPs per domain?

Just my day of dumb questions but how much of a different does using the same IP for multiple domains have on a search engine?

well its more than separate ip's better you use different blocks of ip's from various hosts

What juicy said - you need to spread that shit in blocks as well. You can fit multiple domains per IP, just not many, and don't interlink too heavily if they're on the same block.

I those domains are linked IN ANY way you should NOT use one shared IP but rather, like J said, one different per site + if possible from different C-blocks.

Having a ton of sites on the same IP that all link to eachother can be a bad thing as far as ranking.

Having < 10 is ok.

If I'm on a virtual host server, I might be linked to 5 other sites (which I don't own) on the same IP address.

as far as seperate blocks, most hosts won't give seperate blocks with out good reason, simply because they have to give a reason to buy more blocks.

The easiest way is to use multiple hosts.

It helps to be spread out on not just multiple IP's but different C-blocks as well. As to what kind of a boost it is, good luck figuring that out. It's clearly better to have multiple IP's and even better to have them spread on multiple c-blocks.
