screen size question

It seems 800x600 & 1024x768 are the 2 most popular settings.

I was designing a page and wanted your opinion. If I use a certain font size the page looks better when viewed at 800x600...but worse on 1024x768

Neither is too bad, but I must make a choice to make the page better for 1024x768 or cater towards the 800x600 user?

(I don't have a working example of the site in question online at this time)

make the site 800x600 friendly, and collect some stats on who your visitors are. then adjust accordingly.

definitely 800x600 if you want to keep from irritating surfers, or get a resize script so it adjusts for the resolution the viewer is using
