Streaming WebCam

Hey guys, I've looked through the board and although I've seen a couple threads about cams, nothing deals specifically with that I want to know.

I want to add a live webcam show for my members once a week. I currently use CCBill as my payment provider / members database.

Here are my questions:

1) Will I be able to use a software that streams directly from the computer the model will be using (which has a basic cable connection), or will it need to be "bounced" off an HTTP server to be able to deal with the bandwith (there will be around 50 to 100 viewers per show).

2) Will I be able to tie in a password system which reads from the same password file as the CCBill system so I can streamline my permissions system?

3) Will I need to setup a special webpage in my members area for people to access the stream, or, can I incorporate a "click here to login" type message on any page, even in a "non member" area?

I know some of these questions must sound pretty stupid, but I've tried researching on my own and can't come up with much. Your help would be appreciated.

you definatly want to run your own stream with your own models? because there are smoe good cam plugins that would simplify the process for you.

well it's a site based on one particular model, so i'd at least one one of the cam streams to be of her. perhaps i would add more in the future, but the members sign up knowing that the entire site is based on her, so i'd feel silly not having a cam stream of her

If you don't want to deal with the technical aspects of doing your own stream, there are some possible solutions that would make things much easier. Go check out ACH at http://amateurcamhouse.com/webmaster/index.htm

Amateur cam house is basically a schedule of hourly cam shows from single girl sites much like the one you described. When a girl does her weekly hour show, its shown to all the other members section of all the girls participating on the schedule. I only know them from a surfers perspective and it seems like a great tool as far as retention as your members are getting cam shows and chat not only from your girl but from a variety of others.

I have been doing what your wanting to do since 1997.
Its pretty easy but you will need to use video server software.
the girl send the video to the server, the users watch her via a protected page on her site.

I lease channels on my video server if your interested, shoot me an email.

well i appreciate your information, but i'd be more interested in setting up our own server. could you direct me to the right place? i know there isn't really anything in it for you unless you program the server software, but good karma is always worth it!

If this is just an add-on, you don't want to mess with server set up and camgirls management.
Use a solution like Spread4U or LegendaryLars which would give you the option of co-branding their sites. I believe a few others also do that like LiveJasmin and a couple of others.

In regard to your questions:
1/ The camgirl feed must go to an http server and be redistributed, otherwise your camgirl would not be able to have more than a couple of customer at once.

2/ Your members would have to re-enter their billing info in order to buy credits to view cam shows beyond the free teaser shows.

3/ I would keep the entry page in the member's area to reduce the amount of BS free shows that you would have if your campage was accessible by all.
