membersection design ?

Is design in the membersection of a paysite important? Will it increase the avg membership time ?

Member section design is the most important thing you should think about, from seeing no one else responded to this aside from me a designer, that tells me why everyone around here ic complaining about retention and conversions... they are obviously not concerned with their member section design.

Spend 2k on the splash page but the member section. his wife designed it...

Desing and how a site functions goes hand in hard. Overall peopel want lots of content and easy usability design comes in after that. I have seen many sites which feature extremely good design but when you look behind it, well you find nothing.

Member design is the most important thing, as they say "underpromise and overdeliver". That's something you rarely see in the adult biz. It seems like many webmasters create a site to make money (ie fancy tour, shit members side), and forget they're actually selling service and content.

I've been in biz for a while now and the ones who last are the ones that realize you work for your business, your business does not work for you.

what do you guys believe is the key for rention...

simple design, not much graphic works?

or beautiful with graphics?

Lots of options, or go for the easiest to use ?

As far as retention goes, I think it's just a matter of giving your customer EXACTLY what he wants.

Give the content you promise in your tours. How many teen sites have you seen with 30+ yr olds in the galleries?

I've had simply designed sites and more flashy ones, didn't seem to make much difference either way for retention. Kinda like clothes, there's no "right kind" to make.
