acceptable behaviour?

my old host:

ITMOM

has been down for 56 hours, and when they came back up - "due to a hardware failure the customer database has been lost". This means all my links stored in the autolinks system, all my galleries, everything has been lost as welll as all my customer records and postings on their forum!

i assume it is an ISP run by schoolchildren learning to use the Internet so will not speak cruelly of them, after all - you cant expect 5 year olds to be able to run a hosting business successfully.

anyway.

im with a new host now and everything is cool sofar.. blackseven.com

thanks for all the support and suggestions guys.. likewhoa were a close second.. but i cant really afford the bandwidth i wanna use :-/

*sigh*

lesson learned: "your hosting provider is your most vital spend in the online adult biz"

*relax*.

from the itmom faq

Do you provide back up solutions?

Our centralized back up server monitors your account hourly. This ensures timely recovery of data in case of a hardware failure.

hmmm... guess that backup server wasn't really backing up. Or maybe it went down as well?

I signed up there a few days ago, they have a 7 day free trial thing so I figured what the heck. It has been a truly comical experience... but then again, I didn't lose any data when the server went down; didn't have anything up there.

@a1ka1ine: did you know anyone that used that blackseven.com ? the website looks new and kind of unfinished.

cheers

it wasn't that smart that you didn't made backups yourself either
now was it? Learn from it make backups every 24 hours copy
them and store them in at least 3 different places
