Hey guys, I got a spam main that I got in my box today about a script that'll secretly bookmark your site on your visitor's computers when they visit your site, they won't even know it. I actually never heard of this before until know, even though I'm sure that this practice has been out there.
The company says that they'll give you a customized script for FREE, the only catch is that they'll also have their search site also be bookmarked with yours.
What do you guys think of this. Since this is my first time hearing about a script like that, I'd like to know if any of you use it.
My first thoughts on it is that it's wrong because if someone doesn't bookmark my page, then they shouldn't have it bookmarked. I think of a dad going to my site, then logging off, then later on the kids or the wife jump on the computer and they go through the bookmarks and see my site sitting there and click on it, which wouldn't be right.
When you think of the benefits, I could gain 25,000 bookmarks PER DAY on one site alone, I don't know how many of those people would click on that bookmark to come back, but I'm sure that there'd be a lot that would.
I just wanna know what your thoughts are on this. I know that for a non-adult site, this would be a great tool to have, but having adult sites getting auto-bookmarked, that could be crossing the line.
