I do not know if NBC broadcasts the same commercials around the country, I doubt it, so I wonder who in LA picked up on this.
Prior to the start of the game there was a commercial for Gator Aide Power Bars. The gist of it was that if you do not eat properly before a game you are going to struggle. They show a guy trying to do push ups with a rhino on his back, and another guy shooting free-throws with a huge boulder. Okay, I get the point.
Fast forward about two minutes. They are talking to Kobe, asking how he is feeling, etc, then ask him what he ate before the game. Unbelievably, his response was a #2 from the McDonald's Menu!!
I hope he was fucking kidding, but I fear he was not. However, I have another theory to this devastating loss.
It appears that Portland appeared there, suited up in Lakers uniforms. It was too poorly played a game to be anyone else.
I have seen highschool teams that played better than either the Kings or the Lakers tonight.
