    Studio strobe users.....

I was having nothing but problems with my Wein safety sync, went through 2 of them and it would go through intermittent spells of not firing the flash.....just picked up one of these units yesterday and shot last night with it, and it worked like a charm! It's infrared and you have free range of motion without fooling with that damn tangling sync cord, and it was cheap...here it is.

    and here is the link....

Works on Canon SLR, the guy at the pro shop said there have been issues with Nikon compatibility.

Glad that's working for you but infrared sucks.

It's all about multi channel RF systems.

How come you say it sucks? All I have it for is to fire my strobes, and it is doing that.

Come back here in 6 months and give us an experienced opinion. By then you should be ready to switch to pocket wizzards.

I have no doubt that there is better on the market, but this sure beats the Wein that only worked intermittently.....and is a new product, that was all I was trying to get at. I don;t want to use the PC ports on the cam because of risking voltage damage....

Infared is only line of sight, Pocket Wizards ( and Quantums) work through walls etc.

Depending on your strobe set-up you may have trouble firing your backlight with infared set-up.

This shot would have been difficult without the wizards

I am a pocket wizard fan myself. Could never go back to a sync cable.

I am looking at off camera microphones for my vid cam.... radio transmitters will be part of the purchase!

Very impressive shot! I will eventually go to a wizard but for now this is doing the trick and I don't have to deal with a cable

The photography end I have figured out, now if I could get the web design and traffic part of this business I might do OK
