    PC Help

Ok.. So i'm installing Windows Pro on a new machine I just finished.

    First attempt - 30seconds reboot

    Second - 1 1/2 minute reboot

    Third attempt - in progress...

Why does my computer keep rebooting during setup? Is it something to do with power management in the BIOS? I really don't have any clue what so ever.. Any advice is apreciated.

        XP?

if so, its normal, i think...

my pc did it everytime i formatted... i think its just how XP is, so you dont have to be there to self reset on request, it does it for you so you dont have to wait the whole time.

Sounds like bad hardware. Perhaps rule out the issue by taking each device (soundcard, network card) out and installing it without and then ruling out which one is causing the issues. Secondly, check for bad ram. Bad ram screws with my computers so if you have more than one stick in there, run it with one less and vise versa. Hope it works

try checking out the BIOS for tempreture problems, or try partitioning your hard disk and reformat.

Dust is a good finger to point at... get's everywhere.

Unless your puter is like mine and crashes XP every opportunity it gets.

Try to foramt the HD, and reinstall XP, if it happens again try to remove some of the hardware like network card or some stuff you might have in there that isn't needed to start the pc, is the memory test showing the right #?

Or take the machine to someone who can test everything by replacing various parts and testing..
