    webmaster referrals for real?

I've refered some people to FEB and over the last 2 months I've seen the income generated by these referrals decline and decline at the same time, I'm getting 1-2 new webmasters sign under me per pay-period.

Do sponsors slowly phase out the guys you referred or is it just a case of people joining a program and not using it as much anymore?

I've never been in a position to signup tons of webmasters but I'd like to hear from people who are.
Can you really make serious money through referrals?

i would say it is always best to generate the $$ yourself - instead of waiting for other people to generate a 5 or 10% chunk for you...

It does make sense to rely on yourself rather then other webmasters for your income. However referrals are nice to have as well, more money on the pay check the better, right?

I just don't understand why the income from referrals would decline, while the total number of referrals is growing.
I'm not calling foul play, simply wondering if thats normal?

people try different sponsors all the time, so they may signup under you.. send traffic for a month.. and then switch sponsors.

reffering webmasters is like referring surfers, they switch sites all the time.

remember that and you wont ask these questions

I agree - but my resource site is doing nicely for me.

Most of the income I do get from affiliate programs only amounts to chump change, but I do have a few programs that are doing really good for me.

It's all relative though - For someone like me, referrals are gonna mean alot more than to someone that is promoting a program first hand.

I don't wanna come off like the 'king pimp of referrals' or anything like that - I am still not an Elite - However, there are a number of people on here that are - and I'm sure that they are making an unbelievable income, just on their referral program income alone!
