What website analytics do you use?

I tried self hosted Umami Analytics but it would count bing bot and other bot search engines as visitors!

Umami already runs every hit through the isbot user-agent check, so if Bingbot is still getting counted, a few things worth checking:

    1. Make sure DISABLE_BOT_CHECK isn't set in your environment, and that you're on a recent version (the bot list gets updated).

    2. Some crawlers, Bing especially, render JS with a normal-looking browser user agent, so a UA filter won't catch all of them. Umami has an IGNORE_IP setting that accepts CIDR ranges, and Microsoft publishes its Bingbot IP ranges, so you can drop those in.

    3. If you're on Cloudflare, an easier option is a WAF rule that blocks requests to your Umami tracker endpoint when the visitor is a verified bot (cf.client.bot). The bots still crawl your pages, they just never hit the tracker.

    4. Treat any JS analytics as an estimate. For search traffic, Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools show the real clicks, and your server logs show exactly what the bots are doing.

I'd keep Umami for trends and cross-check it against Search Console once a month.
