Because my affiliate payment was held over my head for so long while having free work demanded of me.

The affiliate payments were not part of the work, but the money was held anyways to cause me pain. That's why they did it.

Lots of other little comments Duke made also, he knew holding the money back from my affiliate sales would hurt me the most while at $0 and gave him more leverage to demand free work, which is exactly why he did it.
