Building a Strong Website Without WordPress

WordPress is everywhere, but it isn't necessarily the best option for every project.

Between plugins, updates, security issues, themes, hosting, and performance optimization, a simple website can quickly become a lot to maintain.

I'm looking at alternatives for building a solid site from the ground up, especially platforms that offer good performance, security, flexibility, and room to scale.

There are plenty of newer website builders and CMS options now, but some are much better than others once you move beyond a basic site.

Interested in comparing what people are actually using in 2026 and which platforms are holding up long-term.

php + mysql + javascript + chat gpt. I just build sites from scratch with codex. It can even make a backend for you. Just run php locally to test site. Also best to tell it to make it look like another site that already exists and tweak stuff. If you just give it 1 prompt to create a site it will look like an ai generated piece of shit.
