phpBB help

[Turboface]

If anyone out there wouldn't mind giving me a hand for a sec, I'd appreciate it. I was installing a new theme for the board on my site late lastnight - and completely fucked it up.

I'm sure it's not a serious problem, but I just can't seem to get it working again.

I agree. I have been having a HELL of a time with a used car I bought a while back. Instead of taking it to the dealership and having it worked on, I too post my questions about it here on this unrelated message board. Unfortunately, the car is still broken. Shoud I give up and take it to the people who actually know about the problem or just keep hoping for some luck here? Why oh why will someone not help me?

Actually, there's a number of members right here on GFY that use phpBB on their sites - so I didn't see the harm in asking.

But, I'll head on over to phpBB.com anyways - I figured that there were some people here that might be willing to lend a hand, but I guess I was wrong.

You use a script that has its own support forum and instead you post your support request here. You don't see anything even slightly dumb about that? If not, keep posting. I need someone to mess with now that Spacedog isn't around.

I gotta say Armed & Hammered was a LOT nicer than I was gonna be. I opted to not waste my breath after seeing your replies to him. Instead I dug for ingrown hairs in my ass crack. Much more rewarding IMHO. :D

I would have posted here about the ingrown hairs in my ass crack but I went to the support board for ingrown ass crack hair...

OK heh after 2 hours it's fixed.


Turboface would have gotten nowhere with phpbb support.

I went into thier help forums and chat and looked for help I was told what he is doing was unsupported.

The theme he was installing was an unfinished theme written by someone non-phpbb related. I had to completely redo part of the mysql database and coding for the theme.

So all of you that have been giving Turboface a hard time about this I believe you all owe him an apology.




BTW: Turboface hehe it's fixed and working with the theme you wanted.

I'm getting all the satisfaction I need just having everyone here read all this - You two don't really come off looking that good on this thread. I asked politely for some help for a problem that I was having - and I got it.

This board is the coolest & best adult webmaster message board that's out there IMHO - and it's asswipes like you two that really take away from it.

With that out of the way - I'd like to sincerely thank JFPdude from Prohosters for going out of his way and helping me out when I really needed it. I only wish that there were more people like you on this board.
