Most scientists don't have 12.5K to spend on a domain name, outside of grant money, that is. And it would be difficult to justify using 12.5K in grant money for that.

Sweet in that it is a one word domain name, but what are you going to use it for other than a science web site about astroids that makes little or no money?

Most of the people who would even be interested in it already have access to free university web space. These people do everything on .edu domains. .com domains are seen as commercial and are not as respected within this community.

I've seen worst go for alot more. Sit on it until the right buyer comes along. IMO you can get more than 12k for it. Alot of these guys justify MLIF.com going for 10k but not asteroid.com???? ok...
