banners vs. content

Assuming that your site has Caucasian softcore content, do you use
1) softcore banners; 2) hardcore banners; 3) a mix of 1) and 2); 4) one of the foregoing alternatives AND some off-theme ads, like Asian banners ?

I've been doing 3), but a tracking of the banner clicks revealed that my visitors preferred the softcore banners!

What has worked best for you?

I always go with what I am showing them. Here's ten blonde babe photos. If you want more click here. That's for TGP traffic. If you are using SE's or link lists, present them with a links page or something that says Not interested? Here's some more links. and hit them with everything you have.

Try tweaking the text and banner during max traffic flow its can be interesting. Be careful not to overcook it though or you will get caught for changing the page like me

Assmore, I'd go with the mix of 1 and 3. I like softcore content and would be more likely to click a soft banner (because it's what I like) But there's always going to be alot of surfers that think the softcore is hot, but think "she's hot, I'd like to see her suck a big one!"

Don't make 'em go elsewhere to look for it, let 'em know where to get whatever they want.

So I'd go with 1 hardcore banner and the rest soft.

I would go with 0 banners and a few hot text links. A couple offering softcore and a couple offering hardcore.

Thanks for the input, valid points even though I had a whole site in mind. To summarize, there seem to be at least three types of surfers to handle.
<ul>[*]'The More-of-the-same surfer' => same banners as content</li>[*]'The XXX-smut seeker' => softcore content + hardcore banners</li>[*]'The exotic seeker' => banners</li> advertising unusual niche sites (think about a newbie surfer on a bondage site for his/her first time thinking 'This is it!')[/list]
I think I'll go with a mix, giving each of these surfers somehting little... For my softcore site, maybe 60% softcore banners, 30% harcore, and 10% speciality niches (pissing, vouyeur, etc).

I always try to stick with softcore banners. Also i try to find a banner where the girl looks like the one in the gallery (hair color etc.)
