    ebay question

i just got an email from this guy i sold a zip drive to on ebay. he emailed me like 3 weeks ago saying he got the drive and it works fine. then he emails me today saying "Hey my zip drive quit working! I only used it a dozen times! Some kind of mechanical problem, won?t eject the disk and won?t read the disk, I was able to get the disk out with a pliers." should i tell him that this isnt best buy and i dont offer warrenties or should i refund his $? i only sold the drive for like $20. if it didnt work when he first got it i would have refunded his $ without hesitation.

shit happens. as long as it worked perfectly fine when u sold it, i wouldn't refund. thats what happens when u buy used goods. save some money but u take the risk of not having a warranty when it breaks.

          NO REFUND... period.

or charge him $100 to fix it and send it back.

It could depend on how important the $20 was to you. If you deal much on ebay, might be worth the refund. Those comments that buyers make can carry a lot of weight.
But.. have him return it where you can check it out to make sure he didn't mess with it, then if it isn't working.. be the nice guy.. The refund might help you more than 20 extra bucks in your pocket... again.. if you deal much on Ebay...

tell him you'll refund his money but he has to return the drive to you, but he has to pay for shipping & insurance which isn't refundable. chances are he'll just say fuck it and keep it.
