Is Adobe Premier the best out there to just add a logo to your own videos and compress the video size?

I basically need software that will add a logo to the video and compress the size of the file. All suggestions are welcome...

Personally I would say premier however ive used pinnicle 9 which is very use friendly.

Virtual Dub does it. Of course it´s not so comfortable as premiere, but it works.

Pinnacle doesn´t get along with mp3 files, at least studio 8 doesn´t, so you have to use another software to compress your files using Pinnacle Studio.

add Cleaner XL if you want to batch out multiple clips

If all you want to do is add a logo and compress - You don't need to buy a video suite that will do thousands of things you don't need -
Windows Movie Maker will do that - If you want to go into serious editing, Vegas.
