    Idiots Attacking Mainstream Software Service

Let's pretend you have a popular mainstream website with popular software that goes with it...
Now these 'hackers' have figured out an exploit with your software that can cause your users to crash and they are attacking your servers/software and costing you money.

What do you do? You know their IP address and even have their photos and address, but they are in a European country far away from where you live.

They are also saying a competitor paid them to destroy your company, and that they want money.

What is the best way to deal with this situation?

Anyone ever have anything like this happen?

Good idea, but they are in a major European country that we make money from so we can't block the whole thing unfortunately.
