I need opinions, stats, details about STREAMING video player options currently available.

1. Quicktime - Why is this so seldom used in the adult industry?

2. Windows Media Player - Love it? Hate it? Why?

3. Real Player - Pros? Cons?

4. Java based streaming - Know of any good players that utilize java? Are you a fan of streaming with java?

5. Flash based streaming - What do you think?

What would you like to see that isnt offered now? What could a player offer to make you use it over all others? What would it take in a new player to get you to switch? Options? What would you pay? Be thorough!

Most helpful response receives nothing but my undivided admiration... which is worth a lot, because it is so rare.

Why specifically do flash players suck? Flash is also installed on over 90% of computers. Do you think its the technology or the unavailability of a universal player?

I never heard of java based video, maybe its time i get out of the dungen and out to the real world....Flash video on the other hand would probally work well, and would have a zoom function built in already....I hate Real player (but still encode in it), WMV has been good to me, and quick time is only good because of its high quality......does that help? If your only encodeing in one format, flash would most likely give you the best quality/size ratio....What ever happened to Divx?

WMV is most popular because everyone runs windows and it plays nicely for everyone, and you can compress it pretty high, with decent results.

No one uses quicktime because of the fact that everyone uses windows and the qt player on windows is a bit buggy. I prefer quicktime actually, the sorenson codec is pretty powerful if used properly.

Real player is basically a piece of shit, as mentioned above.

Flash players? that just doesn't sound right.

The bottom line is, go with mpeg-1.
