one of my friends is looking into starting his own tshirt printing site. he wants the user to be able to design their own shirts by picking logos colors etc....

how much does a script like usually go for?

if thats something you're just giving the user choice of then you don't really need a script.

For a usable checkout script from start to finish then you're talking about $300 if its someone like me. You may be able to find a newbie to do it for much less.

cant help you with a quote, but its a great idea Another idea I had is where people can submit a photo, pick an artist style, then convert the photo to canvas via paint by numbers. Ship the canvas and paints etc.


Anyways, he should contact vistaprint.com or similar and find out who did their scripts. would save alot of money opposed to having one made.

I would charge a lot of money to do something like that. Take the previous quote of $300 and times it by at least 10.

Not for $3k. It'd be really fucking easy to gather form data and send an order off. All you'd really need was radio buttons+submit. Nice try.

yep. Id guess a system like that starting from scratch would run over 200k in developement if not more. Integrating a ton of modules together to produce one system is costly.
