    statistics question?

hey ppl... does anyone know what the current statistics are for what people use as their monitor resolution?

i know it used to be that most people used 800x600, but i would have thought more people would have been going to atleast 1024x768 by now, with the lcd's becoming more common...

majority of webmasters use 1024x768... many are higher.

majority of surfers still use 800x600.

They are slowly coming around, but it's still best to design for 800x600 so that your designs will work for everyone.

There are still a good chunk of surfers with 800x600 but I see several big sites designing for 1024x768.

I tried the script to detect resolution and redirect appropriately but it seemed to slow page load time
