    Water cooler problems

I keep finding algae in my water cooler

I bleach it out carefully, but about 2 bottles later it's back again.

Any ideas how to get rid of it once & for all, or do I need a new unit?

you will have algea problems as long as you have a natural or an artificial sunlight source hitting that bottle, any algea survives and it will regrow.

Methaline blue is an organic killer and you can use this to kill everything in there but you MUST and I repeat MUST use soap and hot water to get rid of it all or you are going to have the runs. I use the stuff to kill bacteria and algea in my breeding tanks for fish. Others use it for a prank since in the digestive system it causes the flushing of the body, which is why you have to use plenty of hot water and soap.

interesting- the cooler is beside a huge plate glass window that gets direct sunlight every morning. I had no idea!
