    Domain name question

There's a domain name I want and it's set to expire in 1 month. So is there a service somewhere where I can reserve a domain name in advance in case the owner doesn't renew it?

    Thanks

Remember, even if the name expires on a certain date, registrars generally give the domain name holder a grace period of between 30- 45 days to re-register the names, and the name is not available until the end of that period.

Yup, I used snapnames to get a domain that was set to expire and the service worked for me. If they don't get the name for you, you can submit another domain name so the fee is not a loss...

I have a domain, the first one I ever bought, expire recently while I was on holiday. I came back and renewed it about 3-4 weeks later, no problem. It is a domain that is listed in yahoo, I paid $200 for the listing years ago, so I was worried that someone would scoop it up. No one did.

this is slightly ill-targetted. Most of us here have been online for more than a few weeks.

there's simply no such service... first come - first served.... as soon as the period for the owner is finished, register it...
