A guy cancels a membership and calls his credit card company to charge back.
There can be a variety of reasons for that but it boils down to one thing: embarrassment. The same kind that makes people get out of the sex shop with their items in a "discreet" brown paper bag.
But by making the chargeback and insisting so hard that he would never dare buy such thing, doesn't he send the opposite message to the bank, the credit card processor and the site owner?
The mere fact that someone at the credit card company could confront me and say "We know you ordered the smut Mr Okitch" would prevent me from charging back. Nevermind making a scene about it.
So what causes people to act that way?
