Internet Explorer 6 problem

Hi everybody,

I have a little and annoying problem with my browser and I hope you could help me. Here it is: time to time my internet explorer crashes and doesnt load any pages, it feels like internet connection is lost, but its not: all other programs like ICQ or mIRC work. So my guess is that its browsers fault. Anybody knows more about this problem?
Im using windows98 and IE 6.

I don't know what the problem is, but of course the quick fix would be to use either Mozilla or Opera. The added benefit would be built-in popup killer, and far less virus/malware infections.

Check proxy options. Maybe you set a proxy and forgot to remove it.

But if I was you I would switch to FireFox. It's way better. Trust me.

IE6 doesn't like win 98 or win98se

Iuse win98se and constantly crash with the ie error report message pop up appearing. This happens a lot with pages that use php

It looks like time to upgrade to XP ... I'll miss the SFC programme that's only on 98 but there you go.. If you don't know what SFC is, go to Start > Run and then type in sfc. If you've deleted programmes they sometimes leave a trace and some shared files. SFC runs and asks you if you've deleted a file and if so you click "Update" or what ever choice if it hasn't been and you'll find this helps your pc to run better. SFC is a win98 only programme.
