First of all, for all who are interested, I am politically a ugly left-leaning center dweller. I agree and protest issues from both sides.

Michael Moore is a sloppy, 'journalist' who distorts facts to create controversy, and support his cause.

Any HARD left biased person who feels he is a champion of their cause better smarten up. There are many more credible left-wing heroes to laud than him. Why does this man deserve an ovation at Cannes? Slinging more lies at the public in the form of 'facts' that they want to hear?

To be honest, it wasn't meant as an inflammatory thread. I'm just tired of hearding people applaud Moore as a hero and a patriot or 'our side'. As I said, I am left-leaning.

I have NO problem with criticizing the government. In fact, I feel it's essential for a free and 'patriotic' society. I, however, also believe that it's essential to do so with organized, intelligent, honest critique.

He does NOT do that. Probably because it doesn't sell as many books.

Just wondering: Have you actually reviewed any of he's work? Cause American news is highly censored. and what rest of the world sees is quite different.

I see Moore as a vital counterpoint to their politcal opposites, a media savvy commentator that provides easy to digest chunkettes of thought and information.. criticizing Moore is like criticizing Hannity or O'Reilly and the silly dumbed down shit they say as well.. He shouldn't be treated with reverence, although I guess I understand the gratefulness people must feel at finally not having to rely on getting people to wade through Chomsky or whoever, and having more popularist commentators to cut through the "stuffy liberal commentator" architype vs the more entertaining figures like Limbaugh et al.
