Notepad. I have all the WYSIWYG software, but I just find it easier to tweak on notepad.

EditPlus2
I once found that someone at cybererotica used Editplus2 so I thought I'd check it out. Never looked back. It's like notepad but with colour coding. Very handy for debugging.Comment

Normally use notepad - no gimmicks=no timewasting.
i just started using CSE HTML Validator Lite v2.5. I tried HomeSite 4.5, but it's too picky.
Getting a validator was a bit of a shock - my coding is shit, er, i mean IE6 doesn't display everything properly!

Macromedia Dreamweaver all the way.
I thought about updating to version 4... but when I downloaded the trial and it sucked. So I'm staying away.
I sometimes clean up with Wordpad, remove uneeded tags and the like. Dreamweaver has a clean up function but it fucks everything up.
Wordpad is better than Notepad, at least in my mind, because it doesn't play up when a file reaches 45kb, and it has the handy "replace" function. Notepad+ sucks.Comment

As says richard123
Anyone who hand codes html php perl whatever should try editplus or pro-edit and get the tools offered in a real coders software.
Anyone that hands codes often will know that global search and replace, multi window tasking etc are essential tools.
