Video editing software - please suggest!

What do you guys use to put a corner-logo on your vids?

Is there some handy-dandy utility to do that?

            1. I open the mpeg
            2. I click the black left arrow button to select the beginning of the clip I want to cut
            3. I move the timeline marker about 200 frames into the movie
            4. I click the black right arrow button to select where I want the end of the slip to be.
            5. I preview it and it shows the 4 seconds that I want, perfect
            6. I want to save the new shorter clip, and the only option is "save as AVI"

            what am i doing wrong?

VDub only saves as avi, you need to encode the avi to mpg.
Here is a link to a great mpg encoder, and it's freeware

as Helix said virtualdub creates only avi files. I was reffering to the file size you create. You dont follow the procedure that's why the file size is that big. DivX files in AVI extension are way smaller than MPEG. If you are interested i can show you how to maximize the compression achived in avi free of charge of course hehe. My icq is 142032164
