    problem with notepad

    i was editing my webpage, i was half way done and i clicked save. right after i clicked save all the code went onto the same lines and i had the whole page on about 4 lines. i tried rebooting and doing it again and it still does it. does anyone know what might be causing this or what i have to do to fix it? besides format c:\

    Happened to me lately.... it does that if you try and edit an html document and click "open with notepad" dont know why, just when

          is there any other way? i cant really stand wordwrap. and it also did it when i renamed the file to .txt and opened it. the weird thing is i never had this problem before.

            Its not that sorta problem... its not word wrap related... trust me its the first thing i tried and i already had it on

                i downloaded ultra edit earlier today, dont like it as much as notepad but i guess it will have to do.

                      Buy Text Pad. Best text editor i've ever seen. Has heaps of features that you get with C++ Compilers in terms of handling text. Very funky.

                        edit pad i find is the best. i can do search and replaces on multiple pages. i used ultra edit before, but edit pad is sooo much better. saves me a ton of time.

                                editpad has much better search and replace functions than ultra edit. i've deleted ultra edit since i got editpad. not even worth keepin on my hd

                                  sort of sounds like you might have transferred the file to your windows box from a *nix box in binary mode (instead of ascii).

                                    Ya might try Dida Pro.. it's a pretty basic editor with a few bells & whistles to simplify things. The editor is full screen and not lumped with a half dozen other windows.
