First you have to realize that the reviewers are just guys that submitted requests to be reviewers.. probably so they could put their own sites at the top..
I'm thinkin that they take their merry ol' time about getting around to reviewing sites, and even then, not all sites are accepted, so it's hard to say how along, if at all..

I'm sure that really helped bunches..

It never took them more than 4 weeks to add us to dmoz... usually 2 or so. Google is a whole other deal. lol

DMOZ in it's self (specially the adult sections) is managed by a bunch of greedy people abusing their power to spam thier sites upon the internet, but ounce you get listed there the rest is automatic and fair.

actually most of the editors there don't know shit about the adult industry and have nothing to do with it,,, they just actually like to volunteer

I submitted my site to dmoz.org and got listed the next day. Maybe I ran into a nice reviewer.

All I know is that DMOZ takes forever to review a site be it for indexing or updateing, but ounce that happens a good handfull of SE's follow AOL, Netscape, HotBot, etc.
So if the editiors are honest volunteer's,adult webmaster's, on crack, perfect like Jesus, or aliens from another planet, it doesn't matter the fact remains the process is slow.

It can be slow, but no one is getting paid to sit there and list sites.

If your not happy with it dont submit to it, that would solve all your frustrations.

Now we both know not submitting is not a option. If a road has a pot hole I am going to bitch not quit driving. As far as the editiors working for free to index thier.. I mean our sites I don't care because I am going thier right now to become a editior and help speed things up If you can't beat them join them

Some cats at dmoz get edited quickly, some cats haven't been edited for months.

Pick the right cat, and nice sites get in quickly. A dmoz listing is less valuable than it used to be, however.

LOL, I tried that. A pre-requisite was submitting 3 sites that I thought would be suitable for the category. I picked 3 (not my own) that I thought were good sites...got a reply 2 months later that my application was rejected on the grounds that I just wanted to be an editor to spam my own sites
                        Converting like a mofo
