Awstats problem..

i have set my awstats to refresh every 8 hours but for some odd reason the cron job is setting it to 12... any ways to "fix" this

Not sure of your setup but make sure your crontab entry is correct.

0 */8 * * * /command/to/awstats

yup the entry is correct because its running the other cron tasks right on que... and i looked into to see if awstats only allows a max amount of refreshing and says nothing

ahh i see why its not going... thanks for posting the cron line i missed 1 line to the command dir where awstats was thanks
