Enter pages - do they make a difference?

I was wondering if anybody has experiemented with the index pages of your sites? Meaning - have you tried different designs and GUIs and monitored the traffic? If so - what did you find the best way to get the customers in?

    Graphics heavy? Simple?

Enter pages are great for skimming off productive traffic to a sponsor.

Put a nice no nudity type banner on that page and see for yourself.

I hear you, but what about your own conversions and signups? Is there a better GUI to lure more customers in?

GUI? Its like talking to a mainstreamer.

If you are a sponsor, then no enter page or at least not when an affiliate sends a click. If you make free sites then make an enter page, if you make link lists make an enter page.. if you depend on outclick productivity (ie a CJ site or a starting TGP) dont have a warning page, or at the very least dont get your traffic trades sent there.

I'm not sure what else to say on the subject.
