I dont trow out prices if i'm not exactly sure what needs to be done. When some one says i want an affiliate program design can also mean he wants the webmaster area design ect... so i dont trow out a price unless i have the spec and that's how i do business.

The shit is in your head! Dickman and the most of the others have great designs. If you are on a 56k you are behind the time. What you you expect? A lot of surfers have dsl and cable connections. If a surfer is spending $25+ on a paysite he can expect a good design. For the modem connections you can offer a low speed design.
