ok, i was born and raised a city boy. cant stand traffic, noise, and people, so i moved to the country. problem solved. peace and quiet at last! (think "green acres minus zaza and the dog, and that'll be me) the change of pace is great and the locals are an endless source of entertainment. just last week the dollar store had a big campaign announcing they now offer layaway! rock-on!
anyway, after a year, i still dont fit in. i'm sorry, but dockers and a polo are everyday ware for me. for that resaon alone i stick out like a sore thumb. (faded jeans and rebel flag shirts are....well...no) every day somebody will ask me where i'm from.
i'm sick of saying i'm from orlando, (home of boy bands & disneyworld) thats embarassing enough. i'm need a good cynical comeback to that question.....remember, these are rednecks we're talking about

I was born and raised a country girl, In the heartland of course, My Son was a bull rider ( he moved here too), my dad had a ranch, and also rodeo'd for years, Then I moved to orlando LOL I can almost relate with you, reversed of course, I am in culture shock big time,, and have to laugh everytime I see the anerexic cows they have here in Florida.

Oh hell yeah I have experienced I-4 and 50 is just as deadly, But I drive a Durango (with nice glass packs, big enough to blow by anyone lol) and I have learned the fine art of driving with these idiots. We live in East Orlando, In the country, By Christmas. We have a place in Daytona too, but we rented that out last summer to a snow bird Where did you move too? oh btw, my son loves 8 seconds, he goes down and rides the bulls for fun now... Thank God he got out of that full time.

christmas is a cool town, havnt been there in sev yrs though. i lived on the west side, winter garden, clermont. didnt go to the east side much because it took to friggen long, even w/ the east/west "ticket"way
i moved up to dublin Ga, hence dublin1 nice town, No traffic, kinda like ovido.
got family in so daytona, nice place to get away

BTW, your making me homesick But I do love it here, I have been here four years now and it still baffles me that I can look at Christmas lights and wear shorts, and even use the a/c in the winter. I do miss the changing of the seasons tho.

Palm beach is the most diverse town I have ever lived in, on the island you have Palm Beach, home of Worth Ave and multi-million dollar homes, then just on the other side of the bridge is cracktown.
