What is the best way(and not too expensive) to advertise a free hosting?

Do one of those "1 month no banner" etc, and get some loyal followers.
Post here, serious topics, serious answers, with your tagline.
Email a couple of the "mid-sized" tgps, maybe they'll sell ya some submit page ad's cheap.
Dunno what else... just realize you're fighting against alot of established free hosts, lightningfree, etc.
If you spam even once, you're already done for... so don't do it. -

resource sites and forums should be enough to give you a start and if your service is good, word of mouth will do the rest.
Or you can 404 some webmasters and then everyone on GFY will talk about you, for free!
