Mac users - need help for son's school please

    Hi,

I am trying to help our my son's school with thier only Mac left in the classroom. It is a Performa 550 and is getting the blinking question mark system folder missing sign upon startup and we do not have the boot disk. I tried a couple of ld startup CDs that I fouind with System 8, 9 etc.. but none of them work. Does anyone have a System 7 boot disk floppy image they can email to me? The children and I would greatly appreciate it. Let me know.

    Thank you, Mitch Farber

Wow... I have a Mac, and have had one for many many years, and I can't even imagine life with System 7... Your oldshool my friend. I wish you the best of luck trying to find that disk, it may be a collectors item. Don't ever throw away that computer, cuz I know it's a collectors item...

      Hi,

Actually, it is not me that is "oldschool", it is my sons school. I own several G4s myself. I am probably going to donate an Imac to them but they still want the Performa as the kids like it.

      Thanks, Mitch

        There are a bunch here:
        http://home.earthlink.net/~gamba2/bootdisks.html

        There's one here:
        http://www.madboot.com/modules.php?o...ownload&cid=11

If you go here, and scroll down to the lower 1/3 of the page there is one. It's under MORE BOOTDISKS
        http://www.bootdisk.com/helpdesk.htm

        Hope the 7.01 version works.
