I am looking for a good quality mother board but also within a reasonable price range.

Any suggestion on any particular motherboard...

What chipset do you suggest I go for? What would be best suited for this biz (web and graphics design)?

Abit KR7A-133R + AMD XP2100 + a gig of ram. Runs smoot here ! If you think the xp2100 is to pricy you could go with one of the smaler ones xp1700 cpus are almost free

get asus(with DDR) if u want to buy amd, the price is reasonable and the quality's good. If you want P4 then get intel MB that support DDR and 1.6-1.8 CPU.

Don't buy asus and stay the fuck away from P4's, they suck ass. Go with Athlon and try an abit to start with. These guys don't know shit... not a one of them has bought my program :D

Man you have to buy a board works with double proccesor..
its not expensive and cool.. i have two amd1ghz pross on it and using for two years or more..
you may add double 2 ghz proccesor in future ;-)

chaintech is one of the cheapest boards on the market. I'm not saying that its bad or anything like that, but when you buy stuff just remember that everything has its price.

Correct, linux and freeBSD are free and they rock too! Chaintech
is not a BIG brandname....their stuff really rocks.....want another
name......SuperMicro....half of all BIG brands get their stuff from
them and then just brand it.....

I did not claim that chaintech is the most fast board available.
I used many different kind of boards Abit, Chaintech, Asus, SuperMicro, etc, etc before switching to high end servers....

Chaintech is FAR more relyable and stable then for example Asus.
For me that is a LOT more important than benchmark results of a
CPU.

Especially if you keep the machine switched on 24/7....I have
encountered more than once with Asus board strange errors
that crash freeze the machine....I have even posted several
of these incidents to the BBS of Asus...and if you check that BBS
I was not the only one who encountered them....

Stability is my major requirement that in combination with the very low price is the reason why My vote goes to Chaintech

if ur goin with an amd ddr board get one with the kt266a chipset. stay away from the msi board tho, pretty wacky board.

I found an abit with that chip set on newegg I was thinking about buying only $137.00
