    HTML tags on .shtml pages

    Hi everybody

These tags works fine on a .htm page, but I can't get them to work on a .shtml page...

    Anybody knows the trick?

    <a name="top"></a>
    <a href="#top">top</a>

It works fine when I rename the page to .htm but not if it has the extension .shtml

    Any sugestions?

That shouldn't matter at all. Those tags are handled by the browser and the browser doesn't care about the extension as long as the server sends it as HTML.

I agree but the fat is that they work on a .htm page but not on a .shtml page....

When i rename the page to .htm it works perfectly.

Anubody got an idea whats wrong here?

The tags are just those simple ones:

      a name="top"

      a href="#top"

I am just going on a hunch here but try a set of single quotes on the a href='#TOP'

        See if that does anything.

The tags won't work via iexplorer locally in .shtml but should work fine once is running through a webserver.
