Not that anyone give's a shit.. But I think it is unethical to sell email addresses.. but business is business, so my opinion has no merit..People enter their email address into a form in confidence that it would not be sold..

I am doing an opt in newsletter (1st issue coming soon!!) & would not ever consider selling the email addresses.... (Think of the legal implications involved!!)

First of all.. the people who have opted in are only opting in for the specific purpose stated...


for example.. I enter my email in a form for somethingprogram.com to get certain info/content/etc emailed to me at certain intervals.. I get what I subscribed to & all is fine..

Now, take this somethingprogram.com.. & let's say they sell my email address & the buyer of my email address sends me something I did not subscribe to..
This, as far as I know is SPAM!!
I never opted in to that specific list, & I believe there are legal implications involved when using bought & sold email addresses.. (correct me if I am wrong, but that is what I presume to be true..)

MOST of the time people know they will be gettin other promotions or offers.. i mean if its a christian site and they sell the lists to porn spammers that is wrong but joeblow signups at www.gaysexpheneforyoutosellandexploit.com and the owner sells the list to a christian website owner to try and lead this guy from sin is that wrong??

Ever hear of a little company called Publisher's Clearinghouse? You think they can give away all that money by selling fucking magazines? hahahahha They get it by selling your information by the magazines you buy....is brokering email addresses any different than brokering snail mail addresses?

Also, often times, if you dig far enough into privacy policies and TOS of programs, by submitting your email address, you are allowing use of your email address for third party marketing purposes, etc.

Spacedog, what happens if you open this little email program and someone approaches you and ofers you a nice chunk of $$$ for your list (which once you've collected emails, you can also collect information on pics, adverts, etc. that they clicked on and thereby have a nice little profile...) Why would you be wanting to collect emai addresses? oh yeah, because email marketing works? ;)) Hell, I know that at least if the someone is marketing to me and knows my preferences, that helps target my buying needs and...gasp...may even offer me something I want....better than someone spamming me with baldness cures and breast augmentation.........


I just want to know how I ended up on a christian mailing list getting Jesus spammed...if one of y'all are behind it, I just want to say you are a bunch of evil fucks ;))))
