These guys offer a great deal, but everytime I see someone ask 'What's a great free host to use?' No one mentions them. People always answer Adult Pro Host or Coolness or something.

Are they banned by any TGP's or Link Lists?

Do they redirect too much traffic?

Do they steal traffic when you have it coming in properly?

Are they slow?

What's the story on this company? I know I'm going to get the truth here.

I did. I want some answers from actual users or people familiar with the service. The Hoax guy I've seen on the board when I run a Web 1000 search seems to be a stand up character, but I need some other input. Why would someone use a banner free host when they offer bannerless hosting? There's gotta be a reason.

the reason is that they want to lose money.
its a whole big charity program.. do you really think they'd survive by redirecting all european and japanese traffic alone? NO!

--some hosts make money with countryredirects (web1000 redirects german/swiss traffic to a popuphell)
--some make money with headers/footers
--some only with footers
--some make no money at all,and dissapear

at the end of the month, the bandwithbill must be paid.
think about it...nothing is really free;-)

I use them, they say they make money on 404's and I have never came across anything that would make me think different. FTP too

There are plenty of russian porn sites to redirect to and I guess they could always redirect the asian surfers to pirated dvd and other bootleg software and appliance sale sites.

I'm not concerned with them on my gallerys but will the top TGP's list them since they redirect so much. Are their servers fast?

Hoax said right on this board that they redirect some of the asian and european traffic. Depending on your niche, content, and sponsors, that could be a problem. Wouldn't work for me because it would cut into some of the per-click revenue I seem to be getting from my Asian traffic. Small change, but mine own.

I will also say this: I have in the last month happened across two different picture galleries hosted on Web1000 that appeared to be suffering from a severe form of bandwith throttling.

As in, the html would load, but the pics would not. The pages would not time out for the longest time -- five plus minutes at least -- but would eventually load or time out at the end of an extremely long wait period.

This phenomenon was intermittent. It would persist for half an hour or so, and then for a few minutes the pages would load normally. Then the pages would go back to five minute load times.

Obviously there are many potential explanations for this phenomenon. However, I've never seen this particular pattern anywhere but on a Web1000 gallery.

Ran across this on one of the larger tgps.

We do not blacklist free hosts or submitters lightly. You know, we have to work together.
Just recently it cam to our attention that some of the so called "bannerless free hosts" really fuck it up for everyone.
They are redirecting foreign traffic, including fair valued european traffic to popup hells, auto dialer installs and even worse auto disconnecting the user and auto dialing the dialer.

This is a lose-lose situation. The gallery submitter is losing a majority of possible sales from quite ok CC countries like germany and other western european countries. The TGP is losing these visitors completely when they hit one of these hosts.

We had to blacklist all "bannerless free hosts", because we do not want to take a chance.

We do sell off some foreign traffic as I have said before...

once its sold its out of our hands as to what the buyer does with it.

I've read alot about slow page loads, but I have yet to see one myself, much less have someone produce a url...

I am a stand up character and I thank you for your trust...again nothing in this world is free...except maybe love...*cheese*...so weigh the pros and cons and see what happens....


So many people ask all these questions, which is understandable.

But when it comes down to it...you'll just never know until your try...
