    IE Crashed

I've spent the last 4 hours trying to figure out Internet Explorer 5.0 crashed. I kept getting a "Explorer Performed Illegal Operation" error that would loop itself. I tried ScanDisk & everything I could think of before finally uninstalling & reinstalling IE5.0 but that didn't work so I had to reinstall Win '95. Finally, got it stop doing the loop but IE/OE is still fucked up so now I'm using Netscape *shudder*. Hopefully, I can get IE back to normal this weekend.

So I just want to say to Microsoft "go fuck yourself!"

Thanks, Babagirls. I've got IE back. I had to upgrade from 5.0 to 5.4. It's been a weird day/night.

NS was making my laptop crash more than twa. so i deleted NS and started using IE5.5

no crashing problems. at least not daily ones like NS was giving me. i do something click on a link and get a blank page. so i have to click the back button and try again. oddly, that usually works.

i used to love NS. but what do you expect when aol signs a 10 year deal to use IE and then buys NS. that was probably the happiest day billy has had in the last few years.

IF possible, it would be very ideal for
you to upgrade to Win98 or Win 2k

I'm not going to update from Win '95 on this machine. I've tried Win '98 on a friend's computer & it sucked. Usually, I have no problems with IE. Got most of it fixed but now my cuteHTML is screwed up (cuteFTP still works great).

Win 98se is a LOT more stable than win95.

Besides that, everything is the same between 95 and 98se, so there is no reason why it would suck.

                    I've got everything fixed finally.

Corpsie, why should I upgrade Win '95 when it was Internet Explorer that crashed? Upgrading the OS wouldn't help a damn bit if IE was causing the problems.

IE is 100% integrated into the operating system. WINDOWS = IE

yeah get WinMe - it's very polite when it crashes - it apologizes for the inconvenience! It rarely goes tits up - and if it goes REAL bad you just click the 'yesterday' button (even I haven't fucked it up that bad -yet)

                          Hehehe... "Polite" Windows?

My Win2K server crashed a couple of days ago and just had this big box on the screen that said:

                          "CATASTROPHIC FAILURE! TERMINATION EMMINENT!"

                          Gotta love Microsoft. =)
