Does war affect signups?

I was just wondering if the war is affecting signups and if so then it will probably go on for a while so what would be the best thing to do about it in the long term.
I mean, it could make signup increase if the right things are done.

I think it does. I saw lower sales during the onset of the Iraq war. But then again, that's just my experience, I'm sure someone else will say the opposite.

Ok, so if sales are down then I think there must be an angle to boost sales. Ya know like bring the traffic back by playing to a theme that makes it ok to get into porn and take attention away from war.

Any ideas?

Maybe hardcore is not good with the mindset of people right now and a shift to softcore might help. Just a thought; I have no idea if this would make a diff.
